Organisational
assessment

Providing an external perspective on the
organisations’ good practices and capacity gaps

We carry out organisational capacity assessments of national NGOs and/or their local partner organisations using either the clients’ assessment framework or our own dedicated assessment framework. GGC’s framework is based on recognised standards and best practices in the sector and covers all key areas including governance, finance, programmes, funding, grant management, HR and administration.

We review and develop relevant strategies, processes, policies, systems and tools to strengthen capacity at each stage of the organisational lifecycle. We have expertise in all key areas relevant to non-profits including governance and strategy, financial management, grant management and sub-granting, HR, compliance and risk management.

Outsourced internal audit

Providing management with assurance on the internal control and compliance environment

We provide cost-effective outsourced internal audit services to non-profits through our network of local auditors and global specialist auditors. We’re able to manage the entire internal audit process for clients or provide surge capacity for organisations as required. Our extensive experience working with internal audit teams allows us to integrate our work seamlessly with existing internal processes. In addition to carrying out internal audits of country offices or global processes we can help to develop internal audit assessment frameworks, risk-based annual Internal Audit Plans, audit trackers and reporting mechanisms for Audit and Finance Committees.

Fraud and PSEAH prevention and investigations

Providing support responding to allegations received and running an independent investigation where required

We support our clients when they detect or receive allegations of fraud, abuse of power and/or SEAH (Sexual exploitation and harassment) to assess the allegations, carry out independent investigations and develop appropriate response plans. Given the need often to respond quickly, we collaborate with several specialist Fraud and PSEAH consultancy firms with experience in the development and humanitarian sector. On prevention, we carry out fraud resilience assessments to review and recommend improvements in organisations’ governance and management processes, systems and policies for the prevention, deterrence, detection and response of fraud.
